What this site is for
The site provides information about MASA, membership, events, advocacy, and related resources. Some areas (including the dashboard, vendor contacts, jobs, sale and wanted listings, and breakouts) are limited to authenticated members. Content is for general informational purposes. It is not legal, medical, billing, or professional advice, and it is not a substitute for your own counsel or clinical judgment.
Accounts and access
- Member logins are issued to people affiliated with a MASA member organization. Requesting a login does not guarantee access.
- You are responsible for keeping your username and password confidential and for activity under your account.
- MASA may suspend or revoke access if we believe these terms were violated, if membership lapses, or if we need to protect the site or other users.
- Do not share a members-area login outside your organization or scrape, copy, or republish member-only directories or contacts.
Membership, events, and forms
Applying for membership, registering for an event, or submitting a listing or other form does not create a contract until MASA (or the relevant vendor, such as a payment processor) confirms it. Fees, dues, and event policies are described on the related pages or in confirmation messages. MASA may correct errors, decline an application, or cancel or change an event when needed.
User submissions
If you post or send content through the site (for example job listings, sale or wanted items, company profile details, or form responses), you confirm that you have the right to share it and that it is accurate. You grant MASA a non-exclusive license to host, display, and use that content to operate the site and membership programs. Do not submit unlawful, infringing, defamatory, or misleading material, or anyone else’s personal information without permission.
MASA may edit, refuse, or remove submissions that violate these terms or that we judge inappropriate for the community.
Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse the site, including attempting to gain unauthorized access, interfering with security or availability, sending malware or unsolicited bulk messages, impersonating MASA or another person, or using the site to violate applicable law.
Intellectual property
MASA names, logos, and site design are owned by MASA or used with permission. You may not copy, redistribute, or create derivative works from site content except for reasonable personal or internal organizational use, or where we expressly allow it. Third-party marks (including ASCA) belong to their owners.
Third-party sites and tools
The site may link to other websites, maps, payment tools, or services we do not control. Those sites have their own terms. MASA is not responsible for their content or practices.
Disclaimers
The site is provided “as is.” MASA does not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components, or that information (including member listings and event details) is complete or current. To the fullest extent allowed by Michigan law, MASA disclaims implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent allowed by law, MASA and its officers, directors, staff, contractors, and volunteers are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the site. Our total liability for any claim relating to the site will not exceed the amount you paid MASA, if any, for the specific service giving rise to the claim in the twelve months before the claim, or one hundred dollars, whichever is greater.
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold MASA harmless from claims, damages, and reasonable expenses (including attorneys’ fees) arising from your use of the site, your submissions, or your breach of these terms.
Changes
We may update these terms. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page will change when we do. Continued use of the site after an update means you accept the revised terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Michigan, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Courts located in Michigan have exclusive jurisdiction, except that MASA may seek injunctive relief in any jurisdiction to protect its rights.
